avast antivirus protection
Avast is a well-known brand in the world of cybersecurity. It is renowned for excellent security for websites and malware detection and offers an array of other security options, including an automatic boot-time scan and virtual desktop. It also works on multiple devices and includes an absolutely free VPN service.
It is available in three plan types – Protection, Performance, and Privacy based on the number of devices you need to cover. In addition to PCs, it can also be installed on Mac and Android devices.
Avast detected every malware that was found on the systems we tested. This is a remarkable feat given that the program detects more than 1.5 billion threats every month.
Another key feature of the program is its fast boot-time scan, which scours your system for potentially harmful files prior to Windows even loads. It took less than an hour to run the complete scan on a PC that was running Windows 10.
The Avast product also has many other security tools that are designed to safeguard your data. Its Sensitive Document Shield can detect sensitive documents such as tickets, invoices, and resumes. It was unable to detect any sensitive documents, however, on the machine I test it on.
Avast’s email guardian will also look over your account for suspicious attachments and phishing links. It also offers a feature known as Bank Mode that provides a virtual desktop protected from keystroke recorders, screenshot attempts and other malware-related apps. Avast offers a good privacy policy. The company claims that it only collects information that is essential for protection and its analytics business Jumpshot does not sell the data to large corporations once it has been “de-identified.”
